YMCA donation

I put together what I called the beStitched Baby Bundle for the local YMCA auction. I am a member of the Y and am there several times a week and felt this was a great cause to support. I put together a hooded towel, 2 burpies and an appliqued elephant onesie. I think it turned out pretty cute, but I may be biased.

Test pattern for Whosies--Written Whatnots

I was so thrilled to be able to test a pattern for Becky at Whosies--Written Whatnots. You can find her at http://whosies.blogspot.com/. It was a pattern for her Smappy Babies and Little Smap and Sling. It was such a joy to sew and turned out absolutely adorable. Here she is in all her glory.....

I wish there was better light and I had a better camera....but there she is for now. I know Mia will enjoy her...she can't stop saying 'it's cute, I want to hold her'.

Christmas Dress

This was my first attempt at Sandi Henderson's Claire dress pattern. I made the round apron dress. I loved how simple and straight forward the instruction's were. I have no problem reading a normal pattern but once you read her pattern, you don't want to go back to the standard grayscale instructions. I have also started the peasant dress from the same pattern but am for some reason afraid to try the shirring. I look at it all the time but can't make myself actually wind the elastic thread on the bobbin. I am sure once I give in, I will clunk myself over the head for not trying it sooner.

Rainbow crayon roll

Well, with Christmas quickly creeping upon us I am completely overwhelmed. Our own little Christmas will be celebrated Sunday.....as in 2 days from now. We will be leaving for Michigan the following weekend and we wanted to have time for Mims to open and play with her gifts before we toss her in the car for the 7 hour trek. I still have much work to do and hopefully everyone wll cooperate in order for me to finish. I have to finish Mims fabric dollhouse, a car playmat made out of Michael Miller's Merryville fabric with the roads on it, and PJ's for "Christmas Eve".
It will be nice to finish up our own stuff because then I have an even longer list for next week before we leave. I have several orders to fulfill and several gifts for the extended fam to complete.

Here is the rainbow crayon roll I made for Mims. Not sure I will make another as when you throw 15 extra seams in it tends to bend and turn a bit. This was also my first crayon roll attempt. I am definitely not a quilter....no patience for that beautiful craft. But I guess I should never say never.

My first crafty post

I am relatively new to the blogging world, and I have been trying to keep one about my daughter the last couple of months as we live no where near any relatives and thought it would be a good way fo all of them to keep updated on little miss Amelia. Since starting that I have become completely addicted to reading other's blogs, mostly crafting or sewing blogs. I immediately thought, why couldn't I do that? I am super crafty and have the same musings of a lot of the blogs I read. So here I finally am starting my super crafty blog.

I named the blog beStitched because most recently a friend and I started a business in our small town of Lake Geneva, WI. We are currently sewing boutique style children' s items. Including, but of course not limited to, dresses, skirts, pants, booties, appliqued onesies, bibs, burp cloths, hooded towels, mother daughter aprons, and any other idea that sparks our interest......which happens to be a lot!

I am starting the blog (finally) today because I am on the verge of finishing a cute little portable fabric dollhouse for my friend's daughter's 2nd birthday party this weekend. It was relatively easy (just a few minor setbacks along the way) and I thought I would share some pictures. I loosely followed the tutorial from UK lass in US and can be found here: http://uklassinus.blogspot.com/2008/08/fabric-dollhouse-tutorial.html
